- Dr. Jayshree Hazarika completed her B. E. (Bachelor of Engineering) degree in Civil Engineering from Assam Engineering College in the year 2011. She secured 1st Class 1st position (Honours) with the highest aggregate marks among all branches of the B.E. examination for 2011 held by Gauhati University. After completion, she earned M. Tech (Master of Technology) in Water Resources Engineering and Management from the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG) in the year 2013. Her thesis work is related to a hydro-climatological study in the north-eastern region of India using machine learning algorithms and the title of the thesis is “FUZZY CLUSTERING TO IDENTIFY HOMOGENEOUS REGIONS FOR WATER RESOURCES PLANNING CONSIDERING CLIMATE CHANGE (A CASE STUDY IN THE NORTH-EASTERN REGION)”. After completion, Dr. Hazarika joined IIT Guwahati to pursue Ph.D and continued her research in the field of hydro-climatology. She received the degree of Doctor of Philosophy from the Department of Civil Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati in the year 2020. The title of her thesis is “FUZZY CLUSTERING OF HYDROCLIMATIC REGIONS OF NORTHEAST INDIA AND CLIMATE CHANGE ANALYSIS”.
- Before joining NIT Silchar, Dr. Hazarika worked as an Assistant Professor (contractual) in the Department of Civil Engineering of Assam Engineering College, Guwahati, under the third phase of the project – Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP-III), MHRD, Govt. of India from Jan 2018 to July 2022. Her prime research interest lies in the field of Hydrology & Hydro-climatology. She is interested in taking up interdisciplinary research to understand the global as well as regional impacts of Climate Change and to predict the future plausible consequences.
